For many couples, the wedding photographs are the most important aspect of the wedding as they are the only tangible products that you will have for ever after your day is over. It is important for you really love and connect with Hayley’s gentle style and the way she tells the story, as the memories and photos are as important to Hayley as they are to you.
Many couples are of the opinion that a wedding photographer only spends the 8 to 10 hours shooting the wedding and that that is the end of the job. The truth when it comes to Hayley is that she insists on editing each and every image individually to ensure perfection. This in turn equates to between 60 and 70 hours of work for a single wedding. The album too can take more than a week to design, perfect and personalise. The album is designed and portrayed in such a way that it tells the beautiful story of your day from start to finish.Travel up to 60km is also included. Hayley also loves to meet the couple before the wedding to have a coffee and go through a specific time line guide and general planning.
After a meet and greet coffee with Hayley, you will have discussed and gone through a suggested time line for the wedding day. This may vary depending on the time of the year. It is very important to Hayley to get the timing of the couple shoot to fall within the best light for her style of photography.
This is Hayley’s style of shooting using the soft natural light, therefore the time of day for your couple shoot is important.
This is far from Hayley’s style but there are many other photographers that shoot this style out there. As you will see from Hayley’s portfolio, her images are soft and gentle, this is achieved mostly by using natural light. Hayley uses on camera flash during the evening, for speeches, dancing etc. but prefers not to use this for the couple shoot.
It is really important to stay on time on your wedding day. For each hour extra that Hayley shoots it can add between 4 and 5 hours of editing time to the work load.
This is a good opportunity for Hayley to also sit and have something to eat. Shooting a full day can definitely get your appetite up. It is also not the most glamorous of photos to have, as people’s mouths are often full and chewing.
This is always a tough question to answer as it really depends on how many weddings are in the editing pipe line. Hayley does try to get them back to you within a month of your wedding day. However, this may also depend on when Hayley receives your album proof signed off so that it can be sent for printing. Albums can take up to 2 weeks as they are all hand made.
Each album is hand made by the best printers in South Africa. The printers that Hayley prints with only work with professional photographers. They use the highest quality of printing paper available to ensure the best image quality.
Yes absolutely. You may order as many duplicates as you require, without any additional design costs. Feel free to email Hayley for the price list for additional albums and printing options.
This is not compulsory however, Hayley highly recommends using her printers as she has had clients have terrible experiences with local printers. The quality and colours produced by outside printers are not always calibrated to the screens of professional photographers. This can result in images with colour and exposure variance.
It is stated in the contract that Hayley has the right to use images for marketing purposes. Photography is built around a portfolio and every wedding or shoot booked is somewhat due to a previous shoot. Hayley does highly respect her clients, and should you wish not to have images posted on these platforms you are more than welcome to request this.
